The room was filthy, the toilet was cracked, the lights flickered, and that is simply the start. You see, they put us up, not in among the luxury properties that they wanted to offer us on, but rather at their ‘cemetary resort’. Seriously, that is what the men at the great property told us they called it. Genuine.
Now, to be fair, Laguna Suites wasn’t all bad. The one dining establishment that was consisted of in our ‘all inclusive’ (if you overlook the air conditioner leaking into our food) was in fact a nice experience. They changed up the menu every night, including foods from various parts of Mexico. And the personnel was fantastic. Really friendly and accommodating. And really ready to help us with our Spanish.
Twice the shock of the distinction in the kind of location we thought we would be remaining, we maximized it. We fulfilled some nice individuals. Ate some terrific food. Took some good walks on the golf course. And picked up our rental cars and truck a couple days early to go off and explore the location.
THE SALES PITCH
Both BookVIP and Premier Travel Resorts require that you participate in a 90-120 minute sales pitch to get their discounted rates. No biggie. We feel like that deserves it.
Premier Travel Resorts, nevertheless, needs that you participate in a promotional discussion during each stay. This is different from what we were told when they sold us the bundle.
